Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Step back in time to the mid 19th century
at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration!

You can get a feel for what life was like in a typical rural American Village around the time of the Civil War, with a Civil War Re-enactment as one of the regular attractions.

The Old Bethpage Village Restoration is located at 1303 Round Swamp Rd, Old Bethpage, NY 11804. You can reach them at (516) 572-8400.

The History of the Village:

The land (209 acres) was acquired in 1963 by Nassau County, which at the time was a 165 acre farm. Over time, buildings were added to the land to represent a sampling of structures that existed back in that era.

The buildings were restored to a specific point in their history. Through research and with the help of wills, deeds, and inventory lists, the structures were able to be built true to form and some buildings still have their original parts! You can get a feel for the families that lived in the homes at that time.

The first structure that was moved to the property is Plainview's Manetto Hill Methodist Church.

The Village is host to many events!

For example, this past June was the "39th Annual Model A Ford Day". There were over 60 historic Model A Fords, which were actually only manufactured from 1927 1931.

The Old Bethpage Village also had a visit from the film crew of "This Old House" who were doing some shows on historic renovations.
