You can't miss Martha Clara Vineyard

When you head out east to visit the wineries, Martha Clara Vineyard is one that you won't want to miss. The wine is known to be wonderful and unique. Martha Clara Vineyards, located in the famous Long Island Wine Country is located at 6025 South Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901. The phone number is (631) 298-5502.

The vineyard is owned by Robert Entenmann, who named it after his mother, Martha Clara. The family's first business was Entenmann's Bakery, however it was sold in the late 70's. From that point, Robert purchased land on the North Fork, which started out as a potato farm. It would eventually turn it into a horse farm.

The beauty of the land eventually led Robert to plant grapes. The first grapes were planted in 1995 and Martha Clara Vineyard is now proudly over 100 acres.

Robert's sister, Jackie and her father Robert currently run the vineyard. Jackie's previous experience at Westport Rivers Winery in Westport, MA has helped her learn what it takes to run a winery. Jackie is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Wine Council. In 2007 she made the list of "Long Island's Top 50 WOmen" in Long Island Business News, honoring the 50 most influential Women of that year.
