Visit a Long Island Petting Zoo!

Feeding the animals at a Long Island petting zoo
is a lot of fun for a child.

Many kids go as part of birthday parties and field trips.

Petting zoos in Long Island are great fun for kids. It keeps them busy and many petting zoos have birthday parties

How often can you get up close and personal with a goat, pig, sheep, or miniature horse? Little kids love holding out their hand filled with food supplied by the zoo.

When you visit a Long Island petting zoo there are two things to be aware of:
  • Human food can be harmful to the animals so stick with the food that you are given.
  • Wild and domesticated animals carry bacteria. You should wash your hands completely after petting the animals.

Don't Forget:

Hours of operation of the farms are subject to change so it's important to always call ahead. Many of the farms provide much more than petting or viewing of the animals. There are also family activities, pumpkin picking in the fall, arts and crafts for kids, and exploring corn mazes for starters.
