There is the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery. And we have Atlantis Marine World, also commonly called the Long Island Aquarium. This is one attraction you will not want to miss! There are hundreds of animals on display and interactive exhibits including snorkeling with the stingrays.
You have to take the kids to a museum! There is so much to learn and see. The Vanderbilt Museum is one of my favorites. Located in Centerport, NY the this museum also has a planetarium where you can take a journey through the solar system.
In Garden City, you can visit the Cradle of Aviation Museum, which showcases aircraft and space exhibits, celebrating Long Island's involvement in the aviation industry. Check out the museums page to find the many different kinds of museums on Long Island.
Then there's the Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Nassau County, where you can go back in time and visit an American village in the 19th century. You can sometimes see an old time baseball game here. And during halloween, you can visit their scary Haunted Halloween House, one of many on Long Island. In the town of East Hampton, Long Island, there are many historic landmarks showing what life was like in colonial times. The area is full of history with many house museums and windmills and the Montauk Point Lighthouse.
Kids love amusement parks and indoor games (adults do too). Long Island is known for it's large assortment of family fun centers. We are home to Adventureland and Splish Splash Water Park. We also have Bayville Adventure Park, Boomers Family Fun Center, Dave n Busters, and Paintball Arena.
Long Island Attractions for Adults
We have over 40 wineries on the east end of Long Island, and during the warmer months it serves as a perfect way to spend the day! There are even activities at the wineries during the winter, however the summer Long Island wine country is booming!

The Big Duck
How about visiting one of our famous landmark's, the Big Duck? This unusual structure, which has a gift shop inside, has been around since the 1930's and has come to represent Long Island.
