Skydiving is exciting fun on Long Island Long Island skydiving - What more exciting way is there to spend the day! Many people love to experience the adrenaline and exhilaration of parachuting out of an airplane at least once in their life.

Skydiving is also known to be a competitive sport. Depending on the distance of the jump, a skydiver may have some time in the air before the parachute is deployed. During this time a competitive skydiver may perform twists, turns, and forward and backward motions with the body.

However, most people looking for some Long Island skydiving just want to experience a thrilling time! And while you are up in the air you can enjoy beautiful views of the Long Island landscape and even the NYC skyline. You can sign up with a bunch of friends and even have a professional videographer record your time in the sky.

There are a few requirements to be able to skydive:

  • You must be over the age of 18, regardless if a parent consents
  • You must be in good physical health
  • You must weigh under 250 pounds for landing safety reasons

Basic, beginner skydiving involves tandem skydiving where the student is connected to the instructor by a harness. The instructor shows the student everything involved with skydiving, from the jump out of the plane, freefalling, and how to land.

So where can you sign up to try this exciting sport or train to become an novice and learn many skydiving skills?

There are two places that offer this opportunity on Long Island:


Located at 525 Jan Way, Calverton, NY - (631) 208-3900

The hours are
Weekends: 7:30am-5:30pm and
Weekdays 9:30am-5:30pm

Walk ins are welcome, but reservations, which are hourly, are a priority.


Tandem Skydiving:(all prices reflect a cash discount)

$210 Weekdays (Mon-Fri)
$225 Weekends (Sat/Sun) & Holidays
$185 Subsequent Tandem Skydive

Group Rates (Weekends Only):

5-9 Tandem Jumpers $10 off per Person
10-14 Tandem Jumpers $15 off per Person
15+ Tandem Jumpers $20 off per Person & Group Leader Jumps for free

The video & photography package is $120 per person and includes a DVD of yourself freefalling and over 40 digitial pics.


There are discounts ($20 off) for firefighters and those in the military and law enforcement.

Early Bird Special:

You can receive a $20 off tandem skydive when you reserve in advance for their 7:30am class on either Saturday or Sunday.

This school has an advanced freefall program where you can learn to skydive all on your own. The program has many lessons and modules of learning. You can call (631) 208-3900 for more information.

The skydiving rates for a tandem freefall jump are:
$219 - weekends
$209 - weekdays

$189 - repeat customers

Video Packages:
$89.00 for a DVD
$129.00 for a DVD/Photo package
$139.00 for a DVD, photo, & t-shirt package


Groups of 4-7 people receive $10 off per person.
Groups of 8 or more receive $20 off per person.
And if you organize a group of at least 16 people, you get a free jump.

  • Wear sneakers- no open toed shoes or slingbacks
